212, The Extra Degree

At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive. The above analogy is so simple, you understand what it means and how it applies to life the minute you read it.

The other day I finished a great book called "212, the extra degree". The book reminds us that seemingly small things can make tremendous differences. Raising the temperature of water by one extra degree means the difference between something that is simply very hot and something that generates enough force to power a machine. I really believe the analogy the book teaches and it is up to us to exert extra effort in all of our life's pursuits. The continual application of heat (effort) to whatever task or activity we undertake will empower us to reap the exponential rewards that are possible by applying one extra degree of effort.
